Volunteer
We love volunteers! Last year, volunteers provided more than 80,000 hours of support to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County (SVdP)
- the equivalent of 42 full time staff positions! Volunteers help with all aspects of the organization, ranging from serving food to providing administrative support to painting. In all cases, volunteers help to promote human dignity and improve the lives of the poor.

Helpful
Hints:
Many of the clients
are Spanish speaking, so some Spanish is preferred.
There are times when the children may get out
of hand. It is important to help maintain order
and if necessary to remind the mothers who are
in the Center and not part of the ESL Class to
supervise their own children. While the mothers
are in class you, will oversee the children. Remember:
SAFETY FIRST!!! Consistency is always better than
yelling. This is a great way to interact with
our clients, practice your Spanish and help others.
