SVdP welcomes business and professional volunteers. We have a rich history of partnering with our corporate neighbors to bring services and resources to our neighbors in need. We are happy to work with you to schedule a special group volunteer opportunity.

Schedule a Group Volunteer Opportunity

We welcome your group of 5-20 individuals to volunteer at one of our main campuses in Oakland. Please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. at least two weeks in advance and we will be happy to get you on our calendar! All participants will need to complete the SVdP Volunteer Waiver.

Potential Activities:

• Serve 1,000 hot meals in the Dining Room and tour the SVdP Community Center to see the many ways we are providing pathways out of poverty
• Tour the SVdP Eco-Park in East Oakland and help us divert goods from the landfill by sorting donations

Lend Your Professional Expertise

Professionals with specific skills can volunteer on one of our Board Committees or help us with a customized project. We’ve worked with a wide range of professionals on reports, inventory review, technical projects and facilities maintenance. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more information! 

Cookin' Up Community at SVdP

For those corporations or organizations looking to make a big impact and share a powerful team-building experience, consider our Cookin' Up Community program. You and your colleagues will cook side-by-side with our culinary trainees and share that meal together. Your generous contribution to our culinary training program will ensure that SVdP can continue provide job training and thus, pathways out of poverty, for the next group of culinary students.
