Services
No work of charity is foreign to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those in need. We offer tangible assistance through person-to-person contact and spiritual services through prayer. We are located throughout Alameda County and provide various services detailed in the accompanying pages.
Champion Guidance Center
The mission of the Champion Guidance Center is based on its name – Care and Help Assisting Men Prosper In Our Neighborhood. A daytime resource facility, 75% of the men who seek services at the Champion Guidance Center are chronically homeless. Service offerings include shower and laundry facilities, clothing distribution, substance abuse support groups, legal assistance, referrals to transitional housing and resources and referrals. Our new Champion Workforce initiative provides job training and support, assisting men in obtaining employment and enhancing their self-sufficiency.

Champion Workforce
The Champion Workforce is a new program that assists homeless and extremely low-income adults to enter the workforce. The program is designed to systematically help participants address barriers to obtaining employment and receive training in key areas to develop workforce skills. After undergoing training, men and women are placed in temporary labor positions in painting, maintenance work, security and customer service.
We appreciate the support our community has shown for helping people in need to enhance their self-sufficiency and life opportunities. If you are interested in hiring temporary workers for the Champion Workforce or teaching a skills-building workshop, please call 510-663-6536 x336.
