Services
No work of charity is foreign to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those in need. We offer tangible assistance through person-to-person contact and spiritual services through prayer. We are located throughout Alameda County and provide various services detailed in the accompanying pages.
Conferences
In most parishes within Alameda County, small groups of men and women organize local volunteer efforts to assist neighbors in need. Groups of volunteers, known as Conferences, provide in-person help to people of all faiths who experience need. Some of the services offered include food pantries, overnight shelter vouchers, assistance with obtaining clothing and furniture, and one-time emergency financial assistance for utilities and rent. While not social workers, volunteers also provide for solace and comfort for people at risk of isolation and depression. Currently, there are over 40 conferences in Alameda County with more than 600 volunteer members.
