Services
No work of charity is foreign to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those in need. We offer tangible assistance through person-to-person contact and spiritual services through prayer. We are located throughout Alameda County and provide various services detailed in the accompanying pages.
Our Services
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County (SVdP) possesses a very unique services model that serves people in need in virtually ever corner of our community.
Based on a tradition begun in 1833, SVdP coordinates a network of 600 volunteers. Known as Vincentians, these volunteers are organized by Catholic parishes and provide direct services and spiritual support to neighbors in need.
SVdP also coordinates four larger projects, which are overseen and implemented by paid staff. Known as “Special Works”, these programs include the Champion Guidance Center, the Visitation Center, the Food Locker and the Free Dining Room.
