Encourage Social Justice
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul focuses on key areas of social justice: poverty, homelessness, unemployment, access to healthcare, alleviation of hunger, and personal security and safety.
We’ve compiled a list of resources that concentrate on system change and ways to make the world a better place for those who face poverty. SVdP does not prescribe a solution, but does encourages you to get involved in the public policy process.
In this spirit, we share the following resources
- Rough and Tumble: Information about the current issues of public policy affecting Californians
- Next Ten: Test how your values might impact public policy by building a budget for the State of California. Sound scary and difficult? It is, but we must all consider the harsh economic realities and choices we make.
